At Pentillie Castle, we are always excited to hear about the decor and unique ideas our wedding couples choose for their special day. If you are looking for some of inspiration to kick start your planning we have put together a short guide on 2018 wedding trends.
This years ‘Pantone Colour of the Year’ is (drumroll please) … ‘Ultra Violet’. This deep purple colour represents luxury, sparks the imagination and can infuse energy into any room. From button holes and bouquets to bridesmaid dresses and centre pieces this is the must have colour of the year! However, following on from last year’s favourite colour scheme ‘Greenery’ – this also continues to be a strong look for the year with leafy greens and the addition of succulents instead of flowers making your display about texture too.
Set the tone of the day… Cross back wedding chairs at family style sharing tables with long and low floral arrangements running down the centre will be hot this year but also as the year progresses overhead hanging installations will be a stylish yet extravagant trend.
For the ultra-trendy fashionistas, geometric shapes with rich copper or gold colours and particularly metals will be a must. From geometric patterns on your wedding stationery to geometric shaped candle holders amongst your floral arrangements. How about surprising your guests with copper cutlery set at your tables?
With the royal wedding fast approaching have you day dreamed about what your fairy tale princess dress will look like? A sheer backless design? Heavy on lace? Or a more relaxed gown? All three are on trend as are heavily laced veils but if veils are a no go, how about making a statement with an eccentric fascinator!
The royal blue suit trend continues in to 2018 fit for your Prince charming but as we enter the summer months how about a lighter coloured jacket for a more relaxed wedding. If your groom wears a suit every day for work why not go to the opposite end of the scale… a dinner suit is so on trend, setting the tone for a glamorous and sophisticated celebration.
Why limit your wedding cake to just one? Choose from cheesecake, meringues, multiple flavors of cookies and why not add a wedding trifle into the mix while you’re there! This way, everyone gets more dessert – what’s not to love? As for your wedding breakfast we think this beautiful blog by our friends at Coco Weddings says it all!
Open, personalised, light bright spaces, outdoor ceremonies and clear panelled marquees is the style of the summer season. If you’re looking for this year’s most fashionable outdoor wedding venue, then imagine your ceremony here at Pentillie Castle on the old Castle tennis lawn overlooking the River Tamar before hosting your reception in a beautiful clear panelled marquee looking out over the Cornish countryside.
But if you’re looking for style and intimacy from your venue then you cannot beat a ceremony inside the riverside bathing hut returning to our elegant Castle for dining and dancing boasts sheer elegance and romance.
