The dusky winter nights are fast approaching, it’s time to put away your summer wardrobe and get your hats and scarfs ready for winter 2013, and this leads me on to my next blog! Christmas, New Year and Valentine’s Day are going to be here before we know it and with this time of year being statistically the most popular time for proposals it makes me wonder about auspicious dates in the calendar.
Could you imagine being proposed to on Christmas Day? How about a ring in a bauble on the tree, or finding it whilst tucking into your Christmas pudding? Proposing at Christmas can be somewhat derisory, but could Pentillie make it something you have always dreamed of.
According to studies Christmas is the happiest time of the year. This means that your partner will be in a happy Christmas spirit, typically celebrating with all the family and enjoying everyone’s company making it a perfect opportunity to surprise them with the thought of marriage!
How about New Year? Set a good start to the year by getting down on one knee just as the clock strikes 12:01. Surprise your loved one at a party in front of all your family and friends, or more intimately enjoying each other’s company at home watching the countdown on TV. Don’t forget that a lot of the wedding fairs are in January and February too – essential for those wedding planning tips and goody bags.
And then there is Valentine’s Day… The most romantic day of the year in all its glory, red roses coming out of your ears, shops stacked with romantic gifts, cards and ideas to woo your loved one! Surely being the ‘love’ day of the year the percentage of people popping the question that day must be high, well in fact it triples, especially if it is a leap year… 1 in 10 women are now popping the question (although a third of them wish their partner had asked them).
Britons are apparently losing their romantic spark when it comes to marriage proposals. Can you believe that only one in five men continue the tradition of getting down on one knee!! One in five? That’s almost as bad as the 6% of men who propose over the phone – or even worse TEXT!!!
If you are lucky enough to be proposed to (or proposing to your partner!) this festive season come along to our Wedding Open Day event on Sunday 2nd February 2014, please book a time slot so I know how many glasses of bubbly to have ready for you!
