Relax and be entertained in style at Pentillie. The castle accommodates 18 guests in nine luxuriously appointed double en-suite bedrooms, with magical views over the River Tamar. You’ll find lots to do in the Castle and around the scenic 2000 acre estate and we can arrange numerous activities for you, too – just ask the team.
Though peaceful and secluded, Pentillie Castle is only a short drive from Plymouth, Cornwall’s North and South Coasts, the championship golf courses of St. Mellion International resort, and the wilderness of both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.
Pentillie has its own highly regarded pheasant shoot with 18 main drives. Each drive offers high, fast and challenging birds with the opportunity for at least two consecutive days shooting (mid-Oct to 1st February). Gun dogs are welcome. Clay pigeon shoots are also available. Please contact Ted for more information.
We’re lucky enough to have the winding River Tamar bordering the estate. While it’s tidal at Pentillie, the river upstream is a superb salmon and trout river and offers excellent sport for fly fishermen from 1st March to 14th October. Tuition and guides can be organised for you.
Please enquire about shooting and fishing well in advance of your proposed visit. This way we can tailor a package to suit your requirements.
River boat trips, horse-riding on the moors, golf at the internationally renowned St Mellion club nearby, visits to Cornwall’s great gardens (discounted tickets available for some including the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project), nights at Plymouth’s Theatre Royal or the spectacular outdoor Minack Theatre on the cliffs at Porthcurno … all can be arranged for you. Please ask us for details.
