A new direction for Pentillie…
What you, our guests, have always said about your time at Pentillie has been how you have been allowed to make yourselves at home, how much you enjoy sinking into the giant sofas with a good book and a large glass of red, how the privacy and tranquillity of the gardens has left you feeling utterly peaceful, and how much you have all looked forward to returning one day with your family and friends. With this in mind, and so that our future guests are able to enjoy the space at Pentillie to the max, we have decided to make some changes to the way we do things….

So, the exciting news is that we re-opened on Saturday 4th July 2020, offering the castle and immediate gardens for private hire, intimate weddings (until we are allowed to have big ones again) and exclusive retreats.

But, the transition has meant that we will not take bookings for bed and breakfast, or dinners for the foreseeable future. This will allow us time to settle into the new world order and to re-evaluate our offer in a less pressurised environment – i.e. once the children have made it back to school and we are not juggling quite so many balls!

We are sad not to have reopened in quite the same way and know that this is disappointing news for many, but it feels like the right thing to do at the moment.

Re-opening in a COVID-Secure way:
The safety and well being of guests, staff and our local community is our priority. We have made changes to the operation of the castle and the way that we work, as well as following government guidelines and industry standards to make sure that we are COVID-secure as we re-open. We have signed up to the ‘We’re Good To Go’ COVID-19 industry standard and consumer mark with Visit England ensuring that we are kept up to date with all relevnet changes and updates as they happen.  All guests are asked to complete a self-declaration before travelling to Pentillie, in order to keep our staff, local community and guests safe, and we have implemented a trace and track system for all visitors to the castle.

More details on this and our risk assessments are available by contacting the office on 01579 350044.

If you have a voucher for an afternoon tea, a dinner or a stay at Pentillie, please do contact us, either via email or telephone 01579 350044. Unfortunately we will no longer be offering B&B or dinners, but you are able to exchange these vouchers for an afternoon tea, or a refund should you wish. Dates for afternoon teas are listed below. As vouchers are often gifts we tend not to have the recipients details, so we apologise if we have not been able to contact you directly.

Afternoon Tea Parties will be held on the following dates, with tables prioritised for voucher holders, however, there will remain some capacity for new bookings.  All non-afternoon tea vouchers (dinner, B&B or monetary) can be exchanged for afternoon tea bookings.

Monday 14th – Saturday 19th September
Friday 25th September – Thursday 1st October
Friday 6th – Tuesday 10th November
Tuesday 15th – Thursday 17th December 2020
