Open Days

We host 3 annual Garden Open Days each Spring, when our 55 acres of woodland gardens are at their most fabulous, and full of camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas and bulbs – please see Events Page for more details.

During our open days, are gardens are usually open from 12pm until 4pm. You are welcome to wander the gardens at your leisure, spend time exploring the many paths, imagine the glory days of the walled garden, admire the views, visit Sir James Tillie’s Mausoleum (restored in 2013) and join us in the Castle Dining Room for delicious cakes and tea.

Entry is £6 per adult, under 12’s are free.

Dogs welcome on leads, although unfortunately they are not allowed in the Castle.

We usually try and have a plant sale if the weather is not too hideous!

Afternoon Teas

It is often possible to book a Afternoon Tea on our open days.

Our Afternoon Teas include a selection of homemade sandwiches, savoury treats (e.g salmon rillettes on wholemeal toasts), cakes and scones, not to mention the chef’s specials (which have recently included decadent chocolate brownies with bitter orange puree, and coffee and hazelnut choux buns). All of our Afternoon Teas are served with freshly made tea or coffee, and why not add a glass of Prosecco or a Gin and Tonic?

Afternoon Teas are priced at £19.50 per person (min. 2 people) or £26 per person to include a glass of Prosecco or a G&T.

Please contact the Pentillie Office on 01579 350044 or email us to book a table.
