Summer Sunshine – Mr & Mrs Sheridan – 27/07/13
July 2013 saw the fantastic wedding of Claire and Darren, a vibrant and fun couple from Somerset, who’s ‘yellow’ wedding put a smile on all our faces. We are delighted to share with you their story and photographs from their big day!
Claire and Darren planned and booked their wedding a year before getting engaged, they knew that they were going to marry and completely fell in love with Pentillie, they signed on the dotted line and the date was set – Saturday 27th July 2013!
“With breath-taking scenery and a big talking point, Pentillie is simply beautiful, it blew our minds as soon as we arrived. When we saw the Bathing Hut we knew we wanted to marry there, a small, intimate and riverside location, with a chapel feel was exactly what we were looking for,” Claire explains.
On planning the wedding Claire said, “We weren’t keen on the word ‘theme’, and didn’t want to have one, so we decided to have the classic, elegant, ‘wow’ look; YELLOW AND GREEN. We wanted these colours to shine through as both our families have Irish connections, and have Ivory as the base colour. We also had loads of flowers, which just blew us away, and small amounts of bling for that girlie touch.”
The ceremony took place in the Bathing Hut followed by a Pimms drinks reception on the terrace with live music from an acoustic duet. The guests then went into their beautifully decorated marquee on The Old Tennis Lawn. Yellow chair sashes, green and yellow personalised M&M’s, floral centrepieces of lillies, pale yellow roses, stocks and ivy, not to mention the quaint sweetie cart, certainly spoke elegance and ‘wow’!
“We have several favourite moments during our day, but think our vows ‘knocked us bandy’. Entering the stunningly beautiful decorated marquee, with all our family and friends stood raised out of their seats congratulating us as MR & MRS SHERIDAN was the proudest moment of my life, and another was throwing my bouquet on the lawn (all of these moments are captured on the photos). Our photographer Simon did the most outstanding and remarkable job, we were so very lucky to have him!” Claire says.
