Walking on Dartmoor, yoga, writing – whatever you love to do – give yourself a gift: retreat from the world and stay in style at the luxurious, award winning Pentillie Castle,  Cornwall.

Pentillie Castle, an award-winning 5 star luxury B&B, wedding and events venue, is to launch a series of ‘retreats’, designed to take participants away from the stresses and strains of modern everyday life.

The series of carefully curated breaks will offer yoga, walking and writing and the opportunity to enjoy delicious food and great company, all in the surroundings of the beautiful castle and 2000 acre estate, set on the banks of the River Tamar, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Health and Well Being Yoga Retreats

Early morning yoga as the sun rises at the Stone Circle

At the holistic yoga retreats, the first of which is January 3rd – January 6th, participants can spend the weekend relaxing and unwinding with experienced yoga teacher, Jackie Robinson . Throughout the weekend there will be a timetable of yoga, pranayama, meditation, kriyas, chanting – with an option to practice at Pentillie’s new stone circle and enjoy stunning views over to Dartmoor and beyond.

Jackie said: ‘Pentillie Castle is a truly special place to relax, unwind and escape the stresses and strains of everyday life. I am grateful to be able to share holistic-style yoga, pranayama, meditation, kriyas, chanting and delicious food with budding yogis in this beautiful and enchanting setting. This retreat is for those starting on their yoga journey as well as for those wishing to experience and develop their practise – a full weekend retreat is the perfect time to take your yoga to another level and share with like-minded people. Om shanti.’

Writing Retreats

At the ‘It’s Never too Late to Write – writing retreat for women‘, Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd February 2019, author Vanessa Gebbie will give participants an opportunity to kick start creative ideas. So whether its short fiction, novel-length fiction, poetry, or memoirs – she’ll support budding writers, sharing her experience and love of writing. Would-be writers can walk the woodland gardens, admire the views, lounge in front of open log fires, eat delicious food, sip a glass or two of fine wine, and indulge inner creativity while mingling with fellow writers.

TedWalks – Walking Retreats

If walking is your way to unwind, Pentillie’s very own Ted Coryton is delighted to offer fascinating accompanied walks around the nearby Tamar Valley and over Dartmoor. Pentillie Castle owner Ted  is an avid walker and expert on the beautiful strolls to be had around the Tamar Valley and across Dartmoor. The TedWalks, (which are not linked in any way to TEDTalks), start from Pentillie Castle which stands proudly on the border of Devon and Cornwall overlooking the Tamar Valley, offering the perfect haven to enjoy the very best walks in the West Country. Ted chooses specific TedWalks according to the season and weather and a moderate level of fitness is required to cope with the South West’s undulating countryside and steep cliff paths.  TedWalks will be based on a 2 night fully catered package, with dates available during February and March.

Pentillie Castle’s Sammie Coryton said: “At Pentillie we’ve noticed there has been a greater demand from our clients to enjoy exclusive, high quality experiences that help them escape the stresses and strains of modern life. Our combination of Pentillie Retreats experts and fabulous food and accommodation in stunning surroundings should provide the perfect opportunity to relax, escape and re-charge in the company of some like minded people.”
