12th Feb 2013 – Well, we know it’s exciting, but we just thought this would be a local news story! However, it seems to have captured everyone’s imagination, and gone rather further than we anticipated! I know it’s odd, but as a family we do all believe that Jimmy would be rather chuffed with this latest publicity. There was nothing understated about him in life, and so in death – albeit 300 years later – he is also making his presence felt.
We don’t believe there is any need to examine Jimmy’s bones, and check his DNA. He’s fine where he is, and there is no need to to rummage about in his bones just for the sake of it. We have popped a little time capsule – well, natty tupperware with the Country House Rescue DVD, History of Pentillie Book and a little note explaining what we got up to – for when someone next has to restore the mausoleum and wonders what this funny vault is underneath.
Apart from that, R.I.P Sir James. We hope you enjoy the new and improved view! –
