With March only 6 weeks away, #spring2015 is almost here! The evenings will become lighter, the birds will be chirping their #dawnchorus and the meadowbanks will be adorned with stunning primroses, daffodils, crocuses and other fragrant delights. With spring traditionally arriving here earlier than the rest of the UK, Cornwall is the most wonderful place to be at this time of the year (take a look at Visit Cornwall’s ‘Beautiful Spring Gardens in Cornwall’ video here).
Pentillie’s own gardens become magical in springtime with camellias, rhododendrons and bluebells all coming into bloom. We’re hoping that our newly discovered ‘Pentillie Duke’ daffodil will be on display in the orchard this year. Our gardens will be open to visit on Sunday 15th March, 12pm-4pm – do please come along to enjoy this unique flower!
If you are thinking of visiting Cornwall this spring, make Pentillie Castle your base for exploring the region’s stunning gardens. Book a Spring Garden Break at Pentillie to take advantage of complimentary entry to a variety of Cornish gardens including Caerhays Castle Gardens and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. T&C’s apply.
In the meantime here are some of our favourite photos of spring gardens in Cornwall (do share any of your beautiful photos of spring in Cornwall on our Instagram, Facebook or Google+ pages, we’d love to see them!) . #welovecornwall
