Last Sunday was the first opportunity for our new ‘Friends’ to view the gardens of Pentillie, some for the first time! Pentillie has been known locally as a charismatic Castle; full of history, enchanting woodland and home to a beautiful array of budding seasonal flowers. Look out for daffy’s, crocuses and bluebells in the coming months.
The 55 acre estate offers a variety of scenery and plenty of walking opportunities in order to burn off that Sunday roast! Enjoy a stroll to the Quay, and a walk along the banks of the River Tamar (look out for the resident seal!), take a hike to the recently renovated Mausoleum and discover more about Sir James Tillie (the man who built Pentillie), explore our breath taking Lime Avenue where you are surrounded by striking lime trees planted in 1837. The range of terrain and ever-changing landscape are here to be shared, and with a ‘Friends’ membership you can come and help us enjoy this!
If you would like to join Friends of Pentillie email firstname.lastname@example.org, fill in a form and your membership can be sent in the post or you can collect from the Estate Office here at the Castle.
The next Friends of Pentillie stroll will be on Sunday 2nd March 2014 between 11am-4pm! See you there…
