What were your wedding colours/theme? Sunflower yellow and royal blue
We chose our venue because… we fell in love with the beautiful grounds and also the possibility of exclusive hire to make a whole weekend of it
I chose my dress because… I loved the lace especially the back, and it felt so comfortable compared to other dresses I tried on
What food did you choose for your Wedding Breakfast? The Devon Feast by Dartmoor kitchen- sticky slow roasted lamb with roast beetroot, broccoli and baked new potatoes. It was absolutely amazing and we received so many comments on the food. Also, because it was sharing platters it created a really great banquet/feast type atmosphere in the marquee.
What food did you choose for your Evening Buffet? Cheese with crackers and grapes, and our wedding cake
What was your favourite part of the wedding? The civil ceremony under the Pavilion which was decorated with sunflowers
What is your top tip for other brides or grooms? Make a weekend of it- it goes so fast and don’t be afraid to go with bright colours!
Photographer: Andy Green. Harrera images. We absolutely love our wedding photos. Andy is so talented and his photos are a bit different to your average wedding photographer. If you are looking for something a little more abstract then you won’t be disappointed.
Dress: Melanie by Maggie Sottero (from Reflections Bridal Shop, Chiswick, London)
Shoes: They were ordered online from Etsy. I had blue shoes with white lace.
Suits: Hired from Austin Reed
Flowers: Phillip Corps did a fantastic job. We loved the bouquets and buttonholes. He also wove sunflowers into the canopy which looked beautiful for the ceremony.
Caterer: Dartmoor kitchen
Music: DJ Nigel from Stylish Entertainment. He also supplied brilliant lights which transferred a very traditional looking room to a very cool dancefloor!
Cake: Made by our friends
Hair: Charlene from Maiya’s hair salon. She was wonderful both in the trial and on the day and also did our bridemaids hair.
Any others: Hatch Marquees, Big Pan Parties for our pre-wedding party (such a lovely team)
