A film location revealed, the opportunity to live on set and a huge, huge thank you...

BBC One's Beyond Paradise, filmed in Looe and on the Pentillie Castle Estate in Cornwall

BBC's Beyond Paradise

Did you spot us on TV on Friday night? We are very excited to reveal that the Pentillie estate was used as a filming location for BBC One's new Death in Paradise spin off, Beyond Paradise! The new series airs every Friday at 8pm for the next 5 weeks, with so many local sites to spot on the big screen...

Most iconic, Looe acts as 'Shipton Abbott' with other locations including Port Eliot, Calstock, Werrington Park and Weir Quay Boatyard. For our Pentillie fans, you would have spotted our riverside quay, the Lime Avenue, the old sawmill and some of our tenanted cottages.

Alabare's The BIG Sleep at Pentillie Castle in Cornwall

A great BIG thank you!

As many of you know, Sammie, Ted, Sarah, Marc and the boys slept out on Friday 3rd February, as part of Alabaré's BIG Sleep, raising vital funds for homeless veterans in Plymouth and the local area.

With thanks to your incredible generosity, we have raised a staggering £9,552 ~ we are quite beyond belief by such outstanding support. A huge, huge thank you to all those who have contributed (especially to the anonymous donors, who we haven't been able to thank personally).

It's not too late to make a quick donation if you would like to support our efforts and this amazing cause...

Supporting our local foodbank

We donate all unopened food/drink left behind from our self-catered guests to Saltash Foodbank and with the addition of the food donations we collected in December at our Carols in the Courtyard, our 2022 contributions totalled an amazing 118kgs ~ that's almost a tin a day! Thank you all!

Hedge Laying on the estate

Working in partnership with Defra’s Farming In Protected Landscapes Project, the Tamar Valley AONB and hedge wizard Jeremy Weiss, our hedges have had a spruce up with a small series of hedge laying workshops (for those who have watched the new series 2 of Clarkson's Farm, we can assure you they our participants have been much higher skilled than Clarkson himself!). Whilst our final course next week is fully booked, there are two final spaces remaining for our Biochar Day on Friday 3rd March. If you would like to find out how to make this carbon-rich super substance, otherwise known as 'black gold', please get in touch
