Set up your camping chairs, bring your cushions, and soak up the stunning views across the Tamar Valley at this outdoor theatre event ~ an unforgettable open-air performance filled with adventure. Perfect for fans of live theatre in nature, summer outdoor events, and family-friendly theatre experience.
Gardens open from 5.30pm, performance begins at 7pm
Running time (approx.): 1 hour and 40 minutes (including 20 minute interval).
Synopsis
Frederick apprenticed to a band of swashbuckling pirates as a child, and is bound to serve the Pirate King until his 21st birthday.
In a hilarious twist, the Pirate King learns that Frederick was born in a leap year on 29th February, and decides to checks the contract’s small print, only to realise that Frederick has only had four birthdays.
With only the Penzance constabulary to protect him, will Frederick be forced to serve the pirates for another 63 years until he turns 84? And will his sweetheart, Mabel, wait for him that long?

Timings: The gardens open at 5:30pm, giving you the chance to wander and enjoy the surrounding before the performance begins. The show starts at 7pm and will last approximately 100 minutes, plus a 20 minute interval.
Seating: Please bring blankets, rugs, cushions, or low-backed chairs for seating. We ask that you don’t bring umbrellas as they may obstruct the view for other audience members.
The Weather: This is an open-air performance, so please come prepared for all conditions. The show will proceed rain or shine, so we recommend dressing warmly and bringing waterproof clothing. In the event of significant changes, ticket holders will be contacted with updates.
