Tell us how you met…

We met over 10 years ago through mutual friends, having gone to the same school and never bumped into each other once our whole time there.

How did your proposal happen (when and where)?

The proposal happened on our seven year anniversary. I had planned a trip to Italy and we spent the day in Lake Como to celebrate our anniversary. Harry did not seem nervous one bit, so I had no idea it was going to happen! The day was perfect and the location stunning.

What was your length of engagement?

We were engaged for exactly two years. Getting married on the same date we got engaged, and our anniversary.

In three words, how would you describe your wedding day?

Beautiful, relaxed and loving

What made you choose Pentillie Castle?

Growing up in the local area I always dreamed of a wedding at Pentillie. When we went to view the Castle we were taken aback with how beautiful it was and the grounds that surround it. We felt part of Pentillie and everyone was so personable, it made our choice so easy!

Where did you take inspiration from for your big day? Pinterest/Instagram etc? 

Instagram, as well as friends and family’s weddings we had attended the years before.

What was the highlight of your wedding day?

The whole day was incredibly special, and it is hard to pick a favourite part. Having all our loved ones together in one place to celebrate with us was a definite highlight.

Top tips for other couples?

Plan the day how you would like it – don’t worry about other people’s opinions. The day is for you and your partner to enjoy and celebrate!

Any comments?

We loved celebrating at Pentillie and the venue was perfect for us. We wanted a wedding that felt intimate whilst still being able to celebrate. There are so many beautiful spots, and the Tennis Lawn was exactly the style we wanted for our wedding. We were so lucky the weather cooperated with our plans!! Rachael [Pentillie’s Wedding Manager] and the team did a fabulous job, and I am so happy with how the day planned out and went smoothly with Rachael’s organisation. Nothing was too much of an ask for them.
