Tell us how you met…

We first met at work.

How did your proposal happen (when and where)?

We were visiting London during Summer, and we went for an early morning walk to Kyoto Gardens in Kensington. No one else was around (apart from a beautiful heron and her chick), it was perfect.

What was your length of engagement?

Two years.

In three words, how would you describe your wedding day?

Intimate. Romantic. Picturesque

What made you choose Pentillie Castle?

We wanted something intimate and after our initial enquiries we were invited to take a look around. On first impressions of driving through the gates and grounds we were in awe of how beautiful it all was. We were then shown the Bathing Hut and it was all just perfect – we both agreed instantly it was the one!

Where did you take inspiration from for your big day? Pinterest/Instagram etc? 

We wanted our day to be very low key, and hoped that the beautiful setting of Pentillie would speak for itself – which it did!

What was the song for your first dance, and why?

Candy by Paolo Nutuni. It has been a huge favourite of ours for many years.

What was the highlight of your wedding day?

Having our close family and friends sharing our special day.

Top tips for other couples?

It can be so easy to get carried away with everything, but I think you just need to cut out all the noise, sit down and discuss what it is you both want from the day and stay true to yourselves. It is your day after all.

Any comments?

We have to say that we had the most wonderful relationship with Rachael [wedding manager] – what a joy and sprinkling of happiness she is! Rachael made us feel we were in the best hands, and our wedding flowed like a dream thanks to her professionalism and warmness towards everyone.

All our guests absolutely LOVED Pentillie and were in absolute wonderment of the Bathing Hut and its surroundings. We still have many commenting on the beauty of it all even now. It was truly MAGICAL.
